So, I bought this one nearly 2 years ago for our son, who has some developmental delays, to work on fine motor with his scribbling and multi task in the alphabet at the same time. 2 years later, it's unused, and I'm getting ready to put it in a donation box. The reason is that I didn't pay any attention to the reviews on it at the time, and the product description didn't mention the size (ours is about 5 & 1/4 inches by 4 & 1/4 inches), I had just looked at the screen shots of it and liked the pages themselves. Unfortunately for us, the pages are too small even two years later for this to be something that our little man can work with. And, we've recently discovered he doesn't do so well with coloring on white paper anyways because of his visual sensory issues.I'm not rating it lower for that simply because I think this still has some great features, but might be best for a child over the age of 3. I like that the letter image isn't obstructed by an illustration, which I think is important for reinforcing letter recognition. I like that there are two pages per letter and it's set up so that it could be used as an early reader as it's being colored and after it's colored. For a typically developing kiddo, they may think it's cool that they can color their very own alphabet book. I think this is something my daughter would have loved when she was younger. However, my son has enough struggles with coloring that we need full sized pages, and he couldn't possibly care less at this time about creating something he could read. Since we're seeing some signs that he's getting recognition for some of the letters solidified in his super cute noggin (he's non verbal, so all we have to go on for this is his accuracy in handing me a requested letter), it's not really been useful for us, hence a pit stop in the donation box. But I think as long as your kiddo is ok with the size, it could be useful for you, and the size might even make it a good one to travel with.
This is a great little coloring book. I read some of the negative reviews that complained about the size. Well, if you take the time to read the product details, you will see that the size is clearly stated - 5.7 x 4.2 x 0.2 inches. Others didn't like the art. Most of these coloring books have the "look inside" feature, so you can see what you are getting before you buy. I like the fact that they aren't the hottest licensed characters, but ordinary creatures and items that are easy for toddlers to recognize and color. These are perfect for my grandkids and are easy to take along because they are small. I would say that some of these books are far too simple for a 7 or 8 year old, and some are too detailed for younger kids. The key is to pay attention to what you are purchasing!
It's a great disappointment when I opened the big envelop to find this little paperback book of a tiny size 4 1/4" x 5 3/4". It didn't have the measurements in the description and the photo was deceptive due to no comparison. It has 61 pages of one page each for an alphabet. All this for $1.76 while I bought a Sterling Children Books of good quality for $2.58, its size a normal 8 1/4" x 11", 4 times bigger than the Little ABC Coloring Book and a bit thicker, one picture on one page and the back of that page is blank so that you can frame it. I should return but it isn't worth the trouble so I just keep it and waste my money.
This is an incredibly small coloring book! The coloring pages are only 3 inches X 4.5 inches. Too small for a 3 yr olds gross motor dexterity to successfully handle while trying to color in a dinky little coloring book. I didn't think I needed to read the dimensions of the coloring book. I assumed it was the normal coloring book size 8 x 11! I failed to understand that "The Little ABC Coloring Book" is literally meant LITTLE as in 4 x 6 little.
Shame on me for not reading the description better, but this is not a regular size coloring book...this is about the size of my hand. I don't understand how kids could enjoy coloring this. Must have to be older kids that can control their scribbles better. Way to small for my 2 and 1/2 year old. Would be better if it was a regular size.
I loved this little book- it has clean easy to color pictures for little chubby fingers- nice for taking along to doctors appts or other waiting rooms- its perfect for a toddler to carry in their own little tote bag also- less page form them to get overwhelmed with - simple pictures- perfect for toddlers-The reviews from people complaining about the size of this book- obviously did not read the title or the description! I think it's sad to belittle a product based on your inability to read or be an informed consumer. Clearly as some said only ordered from the price-
I was suprised at how tiny these books are! There about 3 inches wide by 4 inches tall.. so dinky. I bought 2 and brought 1 to dinner so my son had something to do and he filled every page within the hour. Not worth the price, go to the dollar tree and get a full size book for a third of the price. How disappointing.
